We start by agreeing the role: the outcomes you need, the systems involved, the access required and the hours that must overlap with your team. The engineer then works like one of yours, in your repositories, your chat, your planning and, where agreed, your on-call rotation. Every month we review progress with your engineering lead and adjust the scope. When the engagement ends, the work is documented and handed over, so nothing depends on us staying.
